Our Student-Run Restaurant

Introduction

"What if students didn't just learn about running a restaurant? What if they actually built one?"

Hospitality cannot be taught from a textbook alone. It has to be lived. Our student-run restaurant is a true expression of our promise to produce work-ready graduates.

It provides a fully immersive learning environment where our students create, manage and operate a real hospitality business from the ground up.

The Project

Every year, beginning with a blank canvas. Students have to research market trends and develop a unique eating experience from scratch. Build the restaurant brand, design menus, manage budgets, price the meals, create marketing campaigns, recruit teams and ultimately welcome paying guests.

Our lecturers act as mentors, while our students become practising entrepreneurs, leaders and hospitality professionals long before they graduate.

This offers a really powerful and meaningful learning experience, where every decision has real consequences, every success is earned, and every mistake becomes a lesson.

The Lessons

Beyond the technical skills they develop, students build confidence, resilience, leadership, communication, and commercial thinking—qualities that employers consistently tell us are difficult to teach in a traditional classroom.

The 33 on Bond project helps us bridge the gap between education and industry. In a practical and meaningful way.

The restaurant is also open at various times of the year during our restaurant weeks and featured functions. Check social media for dates and events.
